The catalina

A modern pop twist on 80’s synth rock, Minneapolis finds a brand new sound in The Catalina. Taking influence from acts like The Police, The Night Game, and The Band CAMINO, their debut EP “Love Somebody” is set to release in summer of 2020.

Finding brotherhood in the Twin Cities, lead vocalist and guitarist James Howard, Adam Hepner (drums), and Justin Jacobs (guitar) channel their experiences into songs that capture young emotion in the most authentic ways possible. With stories of love, loss, and longing, The Catalina captures the hearts of listeners and looks to leave their mark in the pop/rock music industry.

“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. There is something wonderfully anthemic about the way The Catalina put their songs together. It proves that impact is often much more than just punch and power and that even when working in a pop idiom, you can still make a big sonic impression.”

Dancing About Architecture - Dave Franklin

"The electro-pop, technicolour-infused track of La Vie en Rose is three minutes of unabashed happiness. With the first percussion beats you are teleported directly into the opening sequence of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Before you know it, you’ll be wearing fluorescent hats and matching Nikes. With the release of La Vie en Rose – a song you simply cannot feel sad while listening to – The Catalina successfully carve their name into memory."

Gig Goer - Courtney Rogers

“Love Somebody” shows the Catalina clearly wearing its heart on its sleeve with a vulnerability that is simply lovely.”
